Players can use Nintendo controllers individually or in combination.
Good news for those who want to use the Nintendo Joy-Con controller on their PC: The devices are now officially supported by Steam. Joy-Con controllers have really worked on PCs for years. French website Nintendo Actu first figured out how to get the device to work in 2017 but is limited in number, users can only use one of the two controllers when playing singleplayer games. However, Steam support will change this, users can use each controller as a mini-gamepad and combine in pairs with interchangeable buttons.
Joy-Con support arrives in the latest Steam beta update, meaning users need to opt in to the Steam Client beta. Go into Steam settings and find “Join beta” in the Account menu. Tap the “Change” button, select “Steam Beta Update”, then reboot and you can start testing Joy-Con support. On the hardware side, users will also need a USB Bluetooth adapter or a motherboard with built-in Bluetooth to actually connect to the Joy-Con.
