Developer Greedfall Spiders announced that there will be an August-exclusive closed beta for their upcoming action RPG, Steelrising.
There are quite a few video games that offer alternate versions of real events to play through. Some of the most famous are the Fallout franchise, which takes place in the United States dealing with the aftermath of a nuclear attack in 2077; later installments of the Wolfenstein series in which Nazi Germany won World War 2 and of course the Assassin’s Creed games with storylines that differ greatly from their real-world historical setting. Other titles, like the upcoming Steelrising, have yet to make their mark in the gaming world but seem well-positioned to do so.
Developed by Spiders, Steel Cleaning is set in the fictional history of the French revolution in Paris in 1789. In this version of the story, Louis XVI is known as the Clockwork King and commands an army of troops. automaton is ending the violence for the civilian uprising. As a female robot named Aegis, it’s up to the player character to fight alone with the king’s legion in this action RPG called FromSoftware’s loyal tribute to Bloodborne.
The game is now available to order on all platforms, and the developer has also announced that anyone who purchases Steelrising prior to its September 8 release will receive exclusive access to the closed beta. begins August 25. Additionally, pre-ordering the game will earn players a Marie Antoinette gift pack for Aegis. There will be two versions of Steelrising available for purchase, the Standard and the Bastille Edition, which include the exclusive weapon “The Discus Chain” and the DLC “The Secrets of Cagliostro” which has been slated for release in early November.
Steelrisin protagonist Aegis was introduced on the PlayStation Blog at the end of May 2022, and fans were able to learn a bit about the character’s interesting backstory. Steelfting’s rather unique setup can enhance its gameplay, as the French Revolution isn’t often mentioned in video games. And as a sleek robot, Aegis should offer some interesting combat, with increased range of motion and even aerial gameplay. She’ll also be slightly customizable, with players being able to tweak her facial features, body material, and even her wig.
While Steelrising offers an action role-playing experience like the Soul series, the developer’s other recent RPG, BioWare’s 2019 Greedfall, is attracting attention from gamers like Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Set in a fantasy world reminiscent of the early 17th century, the game features an incredibly detailed world in which the player must use diplomacy, stealth, and combat to survive on a newly discovered island. detect.
