While Stranger Things critics expressed disappointment at the film’s lack of horror, Season 4 proved that horror still exists.
Kodoani.com – Stranger Things loved by many critics and fans alike. Although the series’ penultimate season has yet to premiere on Netflix, initial reviews have been mostly positive. Some critics called the season a “terrifying” return to the once quiet Indiana town of Hawkins. This could mean great things are in store for horror fans, who feel that the show’s creepiness has diminished over the course of its three seasons.
While not the majority opinion, some fans believe that Stranger Things should have ended after its stellar first season. As Season 1 closes with the return of Noah Schnapp’s Will, a series of spooky mysteries still loom. The unsettling horrors of the evil Upside Down have yet to be revealed, and this mystery is what keeps fans of the horror genre hooked, their imaginations engrossed.
According to some, the mystery, fear, and mastery suspense present in Season 1 has disappeared in the sequels. For most horror fans, the horror lies in what the audience doesn’t see. And since the ghostly Demogorgans of Stranger Things coming out of the shadows – killing beloved and innocent Bob Newby in Season 2 and fighting the terrifying Eleven in Season 3 – viewers feel they’ve seen it all.
Released on Twitter, the first eight minutes of the upcoming season of Stranger Things promise a return to the series’ gruesome roots. Originally depicting the mundane daily life of the villainous Dr. Brenner, known to Eleven as “Papa”, the scene also revealed the fate of the fortunes that came before her. At Hawkins National Laboratory, many children who share El’s telekinetic abilities are on display, including a boy named Ten.
As Ten happily leads his next “lesson” with Dr. Brenner, the two pass through a door with a digit quite familiar to fans: 11. Viewers are also shown that nature is cold. Dr. Brenner’s terrible coldness and cruelty are not always present. of his character. Despite seeing himself as a father figure to Eleven, their relationship still has a bit of a fatherly bond. However, this Brenner playfully toyed with Ten, mocking his own artistic abilities as the boy closed his eyes assessing his drawing of a dog as a cow.
Ten’s test became more difficult. The boy was instructed to use his powers to look into the next room. That’s where the horror started. Far from a “normal” lesson, Ten observed that his fellow property and another instructor were horrified and screamed. Terrified, Ten quickly reveals that both of them are dead.
The suspense mounts, and soon anything – or anyone – attacks the others will hunt down Dr. Brenner and Ten, killing the latter instantly. As the wounded Dr. Brenner moved through the Laboratory, blood-splattered corpses covered the corridors. Friendly, bright images of rainbows and building blocks are placed adjacent to the baby’s body flexing.
As the first eight minutes of Season 4 comes to an end, both the viewer and Dr. Brenner come to a horrifying conclusion. While Stranger Things fans have certainly seen the attacker before, this revelation – unlike others – only adds to the horror. “What did you do?” Brenner asked, about an angry, frantic Eleven.
