Actress Michelle Pfeiffer has had a few things to say about Marvel’s extremely strict rules to restrict actors from revealing secrets.
Upcoming, actress Michelle Pfeiffer will return to the MCU as Janet Pym in the sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023).
On The Tonight Show, the actress shared her thoughts on the difficulties for actors because of Marvel’s very strict privacy regulations.
“Marvel Studios is very mysterious, they keep everything a secret, including the plot. This made it difficult because when I met director Peyton Reed, I learned a few things about the character I was going to play, but there was no clue about the script.”
“You have to play the role even though you can’t read the script. But this is not a big deal after all because it will change 180 degrees anyway. You won’t really know what you’re involved in, only getting the script at the last minute before shooting, not to mention the script is constantly changing every day. Then you film, close the camera, the script continues to change.”
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters Scott Lang / Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne / The Wasp Warrior . Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended as a sequel to Ant-Man (2015) and Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) and the 32nd installment of the Electric Universe. Marvel image (MCU). The film is directed by Peyton Reed with a screenplay by Jeff Loveness, and stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, along with Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton and Jonathan Majors.
Plans for a third Ant Man movie were confirmed in November 2019, with the return of Peyton Reed and Paul Rudd. Jeff Loveness was hired in April 2020, with development on the film beginning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new film title and cast were announced in December 2020. Filming taking place in Turkey begins in early February 2021, with main filming scheduled to begin later in the month. May 2021 and runs until September of that year, taking place in Atlanta and London.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is slated for release on July 28, 2023, as part of Phase Four of the MCU.
