Genshin Impact continues to impress with 1-day sales, bigger than any other mobile game in the past month.
The latest SensorTower data shows that in January 2022, Tencent’s PUBG Mobile (including the Chinese version) has attracted US$237 million on the global App Store and Google Play, topping the list of games. Mobile games have the largest sales globally.
Of which, 64% of revenue comes from the Chinese iOS version of Game for Peace, and revenue from the US and Turkish markets accounted for 8% and 7% respectively.

Tencent’s Honor of Kings ranks second on the list with $233 million in revenue. Revenue from the Chinese iOS market accounted for 96% and revenue from the overseas market accounted for 4%.
The other three games in the top 5 are Genshin Impact as stated, King’s Candy Crush Saga and Roblox. In January 2022, global mobile game player spending on the App Store and Google Play reached $7.4 billion, down nearly 7% year-on-year.
The US remains the highest total market for mobile games in the world, contributing $2.1 billion, or 28% of the global total. The Japanese market ranked second, accounting for 19.3%. China ranked third, accounting for 17.8%.
miHoYo’s game revenue continues to grow.
Earlier this year, Genshin Impact grossed about $208 million in global revenue, up 37% year-over-year. This is the game’s third month of revenue since launch, second only to October 2020.
