The E3 2022 event has been canceled, but that doesn’t mean the gaming industry won’t have any more special revelations and events this summer. In fact, The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley is bringing back the Summer Game Fest as a way for developers and publishers to showcase their upcoming games and make big announcements. Summer Game Fest 2022 is now live and it will also be viewable in select IMAX theaters in some countries.
Geoff Keighley confirmed today that Summer Game Fest 2022 will take place on Thursday, June 9 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time, Friday, June 10 at 1 a.m. EST. The event will even be screened at select IMAX theaters so gamers can “fully immerse” in the atmosphere of the showcase. Not only that, The Game Awards 2022 has also been confirmed to air in a few IMAX theaters this December.

That said, Elden Ring fans should pay attention to this year’s Summer Game Fest. There have been rumors that an Elden Ring DLC expansion is being planned, and many have found evidence of such DLCs in the game itself. Elden Ring has arenas that are unused at certain points in its open world, and some gamers have theorized that they could be part of future DLC expansions.
Since Elden Ring was revealed gameplay at last year’s Summer Game Fest, and since the game is being used to promote the event’s IMAX theater debut, it would be easy to assume that a reveal is likely. DLC for the title is possible. However, that is just speculation at this point and it is better for gamers not to expect too much from it.
