The official website for “Summer Ghost”, the directorial debut of the loundraw illustrator, began streaming the full trailer for the anime on Friday. The video reveals the voices of Nobunaga Shimazaki and Rina Kawaei’s characters in the film for the first time. The two voiced the characters Ryō and Ayane, respectively.
The short film will open in Japan on November 12.
Chiaki Kobayashi stars as Tomoya Sugisaki, a third year student with good grades. However, he doesn’t want to take the university entrance exam because he likes drawing.
Other members include:
Miyuri Shimabukuro as Aoi Harukawa, a sophomore who is dealing with bullying in the high school’s faction system.

The short story was developed from a single illustration that loundraw drew. Tomoya, Aoi, and Ryō are high school students who met online. An urban legend speaks of a “summer ghost,” a spirit girl who appears when fireworks are set off.
Tomoya couldn’t live the life he envisioned for himself. Aoi couldn’t find her place in the world. Ryō whose once bright future was suddenly discarded. Everyone has their own reasons for needing to meet. On a summer night when life and death cross paths, where will each of their emotions take them?
In addition to directing, loundraw drafts the original character designs, and Flat Studio, a loundraw studio founded in 2019, is animating. Hirotaka Adachi, better known as novelist Otsuichi (Stare film, Goth, Calling You, Zoo), wrote the script. Flagship Line is planning and producing the project, and Avex Pictures is distributing.
In addition to internationally renowned pianist Akira Kosemura, Itoko Toma, Guiano and Hideya Kojima also contributed to the soundtrack.
Yoshi Inomi will launch the manga adaptation on the Tonari no Young Jump service on October 8, and its compiled book volume will publish on November 19. The anime’s script writer (and popular novelist) language) Otsuichi has written a novel that expands on the story and it will be published on October 29. In addition, director Ichinose’s original novel Yūna ga Uiteiru (Yūna Ichinose Is Floating), takes on the “firecrackers” motif. Flowers and Ghosts”, will be released on November 26.
This short is part of the Joint Project, a multimedia initiative “to showcase authentic loundraw.” The illustrator said last summer, “Without changing anytime soon, I want to find my steadfast self again. This project is a challenge to find the real ‘loundraw’ with the original version. me and everyone.” The project’s website includes the English words “real or fake? The way he thinks, the way he paints. It all becomes ‘one'”.
loundraw drew the original character designs for the Tsuki ga Kirei TV anime, and also provided the original character designs and cover illustrations for Yoru Sumino I Want to Eat Your Pancreas novel. The novel inspired an animated film using the author’s original character designs.
