Episode 11 Summer Time Render is a bit slower but still contains more mysteries and more questions about the entire island.
Suspicion about Tokiko and the Hishigata family was concentrated as it seemed they were in charge of hiding the Shadows, or at least assisting them. Darkness wants to completely destroy humanity, and from what we’ve seen in the time loop at the festival. I don’t know if Shinpei remembered Tokiko’s words from that night and warned her of what was about to happen to her and all the destruction to come, but it seems like they’re all falling into one. really bad situation. Tokiko promised not to harm them, even if there were two Big Shadows right next to them.
Haine
But we can’t say that bad things won’t happen when the party goes to see the Dark mother and realizes their missing eye is located in Shinpei. In fact, I think she already knew that when she interfered with Ushio’s flashback. With the 12th episode titled “Bloody Night”, I didn’t expect anything good. But, we’ll have some answers and possibly the entire lore of this mysterious island next time.
Episode 11 Summer Time Render also made me really curious how long these Shadows have been around and how powerful they are to take over this entire cave as a home and clone. From Nezu’s story, it could be from the Meiji era but who knows. What’s interesting, though, is how many of these Ball kids are there, both small and large. How long does it take for them to fully form and reproduce like all the Shadows we’ve seen? And how did they even arrive at the first island.
I also feel like there’s a bit of a premonition when it comes to “eating”. First of all, 9pm is the time to eat seems really late to me and I wonder if 9pm is when the carnival massacre happened. Anyway, Ushio mentioned that she needed the original human Ushio’s body in order to be able to replicate and fully heal herself. Shinpei questioned if that was the only way. The officer from the previous episode is now dead and it looks like he will be the one in the next meal. It’s basically the same as what happened at the carnival, but we know that Ushio would never want to do that to an innocent person.
Hizuru flying color
With the title of the next episode, I think the story is resetting time. Shinpei is just getting into this as much as possible to get as much information as he can and when the time is right, he will intentionally kill himself or just kill himself. I’m not sure how Shinpei would do that when he had left behind his backpack and nail gun. And if that works, he’ll most likely convince Alan not to cremate Ushio’s body just so Shadow Ushio can copy her when it needs to recharge.
However, there were a few things that bothered me in episode 11 Summer Time Render. First of all, how can Shiori Ball survive? I know the episode is clear when she slips through the cracks in the concrete and escapes into the drain? But apparently hitting them three times with a nail gun would completely immobilize them, including their form. Apparently Shiori is still trapped so I don’t understand how she managed to get out. And second, isn’t the scene with Mio and Tetsu a bit annoying? I know that Mio is genuinely interested in Shiori, but to pursue her when she looks obviously strange and even goes down a manhole?
This is how people die in horror movies! I guess now I know who Haine is too. I don’t expect to get Hizuru’s full story with Haine, so that will remain a mystery for now. As such, with two people dead, I think resetting the time is inevitable. Where does the story go from here?
