Followed by a series of familiar scenes of the West such as rice fields, grave mounds, cemeteries, monkey bridges, and wild shrines outside the fields.

Is “Blood Grass” really “blood grass”?

Well, that’s a brief summary of Blood Grass’s latest trailer for those of you who haven’t had a chance to check out the trailer, now we’ll go into the analysis, dissection and gossip. And if you’ve seen the Blood Grass Review video I did a year ago… forget what I said. Because in today’s video, I’m going to take you to a whole new theory.

But before I go on, I will briefly recap some of the details that appeared in the demo. I will play the role of a young city man named Minh, and according to the latest TEGA Studio post, Minh witnessed the unjust death of his sister and the departure of his brother-in-law named Nam. So he went to their home to find out the real cause of his sister’s death.

Through the letters in the house, we will see that Minh’s brother-in-law – ie Nam, seems to love his pregnant wife very much. Both husband and wife are looking forward to their son, who is about to be born, and even take medicine taught by a teacher named Tu to pray for a wish. Those are all the details I think you need to know before we start analyzing today’s trailer.

The first, and also the detail that I think many people confuse the most is the game name. We all think, “blood grass” is the name of a medicine, and it is related to the plot of the game. In fact, it is true that there is a medicine called “blood weed”, or more pronounced “blood-cured”, but it has nothing to do with the name of the game.

The detail to support my argument is that in the demo, there is a segment where we will go to the garden to pick tobacco leaves. Combining it with the letter from a husband named Nam to his wife, we know that the herb has the effect of helping to give birth to a son, and we are all mistaken that the name of that medicinal plant is “blood weed”, which coincides with the name of the game.

In the Vietnamese pharmacopoeia, it is written that blood grass helps to nourish blood, cure joint pain, rheumatism, hematoma, and of course, there is no mention of the possibility of increasing the birth rate of boys. Well, maybe the concept of “bringing a son through blood grass” in the game is due to superstition, but we all forget one thing.

When using bloodweed as medicine, people only use the stem, and the branches and leaves are cut off. This can be considered as basic knowledge of the medical practitioner, and you can also easily find this information online, but in the game, the remedy tells to cook the leaves to drink, I don’t think TEGA Studio will commit a crime. such mistake. Not to mention, the leaves of the “blood grass” plant in nature are compound leaves, and the tobacco leaves in the game are single leaves, but making the game must refer to the actual model, so it is even more unlikely that the tree is a tree. One more detail to support this point is the English name of the game – Blood Field. Although my English level is at the bottom of society, I also know that the word Blood Field translates to “blood meadow”, right and wrong. Therefore, the real meaning of the name “Blood Grass” is actually “Stained grassland”, “Bloody field”, corresponding to the image of a girl wearing a ba ba standing in the middle of the rice fields that appeared. in the trailer.

However, that does not mean that I completely negate the hypothesis that the “blood grass” medicinal plant appears in the game. Because the stormy weather is not in Vietnamese grammar, what if TEGA Studio plays with both meanings and doesn’t pay attention to the details I mentioned above? That is not to mention, the pharmacopoeia has written, pregnant women should not use bloodweed because it is easy to induce pregnancy.

Of course, I don’t put my faith in the theory that bloodweed is a medicinal plant that the wife takes a lot. Because in the demo, we know that the wife has to drink this medicine every day, but in the trailer, we hear the baby crying, which means the wife has successfully given birth. Taking such medicine and both mother and baby are safe until the day of birth, then the ancestors of the two paternal and maternal families deserve to receive the “golden spine” award, but who can be famous.

What does the story “Blood Grass” revolve around?

I think without me saying it, you who watch the trailer also know that this game revolves around a problem of “respecting men and despise women”. The story of “a man and a woman give up” is almost an eternal theme of old families, it is said that giving birth to a son to have someone to continue the family line, smoke incense for grandparents later. When a daughter is raised, she also returns to her husband’s house later, has no relationship with her mother’s family, so she keeps saying “daughter is a foreigner’s female student”.

In the countryside at that time, it was not uncommon, all families tried to have a son, so there were many families in the old days with 10 or 12 children. A wife who can’t bear a son is ridiculed by her husband’s family, saying she can’t give birth. But the matter of boys and girls is up to you guys to decide, not ladies can give you the Y gene.

But since the game is set in 1983, I don’t think this family has enough money to go for an ultrasound at that time, so it’s not certain if the sister-in-law is pregnant with a boy or a girl.

Coupled with the phrase “foreign schoolgirl” with the cry of the baby in the trailer, I guessed that maybe the wife gave birth successfully, but the baby was a girl, not a boy. Nam initially loved his wife because he thought she would give birth to a son, but when he discovered it was a girl, he began to turn his face.

That’s not to mention the gossip of relatives around, I just heard it in the trailer, but I still have an itchy ear, let alone in real life? Maybe those words stimulated the blood in Nam’s body, so he gave his daughter to teacher Tu to perform a ritual to find a son, as evidenced by the phrase “don’t let me” wife. repeat at the end of the video. This is also the reason to explain the rituals that are spoiled by the publisher on facebook.

But, things are not that simple? At the end of the trailer, we see the scene of the wife wearing a bathrobe kneeling in front of a giant head. It reminds me of one of the most famous ghosts in the West – the Malay. It is possible that the teacher Tu used his daughter to train Ma Lai, that’s why there was a scene where the wife knelt before her head, like the image of a mother suffering when facing her child.

But it is also possible that the teacher Tu used the couple’s children to train ghosts and spirits, and the mother was played by him, and the medicinal plant planted in the garden for his wife to drink was actually wormwood, not wormwood. Is there any medicine to help give birth to a boy?

It is possible that, after being played with wormwood, the wife turned into Ma Lai, and the resentment over the loss of her child made her murder her husband and become a wandering ghost. But in order to not look like a bad guy, he colluded with Master Tu to kill his wife.

The tobacco that the wife took during pregnancy was normal, but after that, she was probably wrongfully killed by her husband and teacher Tu. And because she did not accept that she was gone, she returned to claim her husband’s life, thus causing a famous case of injustice throughout the poor countryside.

Besides that theory, there is also another theory that the wife was given birth control pills by Tu, so the child had a miscarriage, the child turned into a demon and haunted the poor couple. The reason the sorcerer did that might be because he wanted to take the child and practice charms, but I don’t think this theory is very promising. Because like I said, in the trailer there is a baby crying loudly after the mother’s scream stops, it reminds me of a successful birth rather than a failure.
