Former SKT T1 Support, Wolf, said that T1’s loss to Gen.G was not entirely due to mistakes in the pick and ban phase.
After T1 lost to Gen.G over the weekend, the team’s fan community has continuously criticized the coaching staff on social networks. Accordingly, many people find it difficult to understand with T1’s picks and bans in game 2 such as dropping Zeri with a high win rate or letting Peanut have a forehand champion Poppy.
A series of posts and comments across the forum suggested that Coach Moment was too inexperienced, thus making it difficult for T1 players from the very first stage of the game. Therefore, fans believe that CEO Joe Marsh needs to immediately add a highly qualified person to the staff so that T1 can improve its performance, towards the 2022 LCK Summer Championship as well as Worlds.
However, former player Wolf is one of those who disagree with this opinion. In a recent stream, Wolf said that T1 did not have many problems in the pick and ban phase, on the contrary, the cause of failure was because the players made mistakes, and Gen.G also handled it too well.
“Both Gen.G and T1 have pretty good picks and bans. So the rest is up to the players’ handling ability. It can be seen that Gen.G plays fiercely with high morale while T1 wants to exploit the opponent’s mistakes. However, mishandling situations, like the failed turret phase in game 2, cost T1.” Wolf shared.

Although this is only T1’s second loss in the 2022 Summer LCK, it is clear that the performance of Faker and his teammates in the past time has made many fans unhappy. T1 constantly struggled against the lower teams and now it is a direct defeat against Gen.G. In the coming days, the T1 fan community in Korea is likely to continue to put pressure on even though CEO Joe Marsh previously reassured him.
