Team Flash with a lineup of promising talents of Vietnamese League of Legends has successfully passed the group stage of Asia Star Challengers Invitational.
ASCI 2022 (short for Asia’s Star Challengers Invitational) is the first Asian professional tournament for young teams of League of Legends, with the participation of 16 young teams from 4 regions: Korea. China, Japan, and the Pacific region. Vietnam will contribute 2 representatives to the tournament, Team Flash and BOX Gaming.
Team Flash fell into Group B alongside rivals Korean Streamers, J Team 2 and Sengoku Gaming Academy. At the end of the first leg, the situation in the group became extremely tense when TF, KS, and JII both got 2 wins – 1 loss and competed fiercely for the next 2 spots.
Entering the second leg, TF clearly showed their dominance against Sengoku Gaming Academy, thereby ending this team’s hope of progressing before entering an important match against Korean Streamers.
TF is the team that gets the upper hand in the laning phase when it comes to kills for AD carry Pudding and mid laner Jane. However, the young team of Vietnam League of Legends is still quite immature in combat, while their opponents are all skilled and mischievous players. TF lost the game and let the opponent turn the situation around, thereby gaining the top spot.
To win the right to advance, TF will have to defeat JII, the opponent who defeated them in the first leg. They continued to show a very strong playstyle in the early stages, but found it difficult to control large targets.
JII made good use of TF’s personal mistakes to get the Earth Dragon Soul, and also wiped out Lightning’s squad right after they got the Baron buff. It seemed that the representative of Taiwan would get the victory after having too many advantages in the mid-game.
However, Yoshino’s experience helped TF get through the most difficult period. The player who won the VCS championship repeatedly captured the position of ADC Lucian on the opposing side. After 3 successful odd situations, TF defeated JII to climb to the top 2 position in Group D.
In the next round, Team Flash will face FunPlus Phoenix Blaze. This is one of the strongest youth teams in the LDL region and a great challenge for Team Flash in the next match.
