The popular sci-fi/fantasy anime The Irregular at Magic High School follows the Flashback special with a trailer for multiple seasons of the series.
Kodoani.com – A new teaser for the next season of the anime The Irregular at Magic High School has been released.
The anime’s official Twitter account confirmed the continuation of the popular sci-fi/fantasy anime series. The announcement and trailer were posted on December 31, the same day that the new 60-minute anime special, titled The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc, which was broadcast on Japanese television. Additional details about the show’s sequel are still scarce, as the teaser video is mostly a look back at footage from previous installments in the series.

Anime takes place in an alternate history where certain humans have magical abilities, and as a result the development of technology has been focused on helping magicians to hone their skills. The series takes place at a high school specifically designed to help potential magicians reach their full potential, and focuses on a pair of siblings: Miyuki with a penchant for magic, and her brother and guardian, Tatsuya. The Reminiscence anime special features the return of many of the second season’s voice actors and staff, who are also expected to reprise their roles for the new season. The franchise began with a series of stories published online by creator Tsutomu Sato. Publishing house Dengeki Bunko began publishing these stories as light novels in 2011. Sato’s story has also been adapted into a manga series, featuring a rotating team of artists that change from story to story. An anime adaptation, produced by Death Note studio Madhouse, premiered in 2014. The second season is produced by Studio Eight-Bit, best known for its anime adaptation That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Eight-Bit also produced the first film in the series, The Irregular at Magic High School Movie: The Girl Who Calls the Stars, which was released in 2017. A spin-off series, titled The Honor at Magic High School, aired its 13-episode first season last summer.
