Omoinotake performed “EVERBLUE” on October 1 show
The website anime adaptation of Tsubasa Yamaguchi’s manga is The Blue Period. posted the second trailer for the anime on Friday. Preview video of Omoinotake’s anime opening theme song “EVERBLUE”.
Kodansha Comics licensed the manga and it describes the story:
Yatora is a perfect high school student, with high grades and lots of friends. It was indeed an easy result, and in the end… a dull picture. But one day, he wandered into the art room, and a lone painting caught his eye, awakening in his mind a beauty the young man had never known. Forced and consumed, he plunges headlong into the fray – and he’s about to learn just how bad the art of barbarism and uncompromising can go!

The anime will have a pre-prem on Netflix in Japan on September 25, before premiering on MBS, TBS and 26 other channels on October 1 during Super Animeism, on BS Asahi on October 3, and on AT-X on October 7 Additionally, Netflix will begin streaming the anime outside of Japan on October 9, with new episodes weekly.
Koji Masunari (Read or Die, Kamichu !, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic) is directing, while Katsuya Asano (Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS) is directing the anime at Seven Arcs. Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Tamako Love Story, Liz and the Blue Bird) is writing and supervising the anime’s scripts. Tomoyuki Shitaya (Bakuman., Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, If My Favorite Pop Idol Made it to the Budokan, I would Die) is designing the characters. Mol-74 will perform the ending theme song “Replica.”
Yamaguchi launched the manga in Afternoon magazine in June 2017. Kodansha published the manga’s 11th volume on September 22. Kodansha Comics published the fourth volume in English on August 17.
The manga won the 13th Manga Taisho Award in 2020 and was nominated for the award the year before. The series was also nominated for the 24th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Awards in February 2020, and was also ranked 14th on Kono Manga ga Sugoi! list of male readers in December 2019, and ranked 15th on the same list in December 2020. The manga also won the best joint manga award during the 44th Annual Kodansha Manga Awards in 2020.
