After this old woman died, her relatives had to mobilize up to 14 people to help them count all the money that she left in the cupboard.
On September 23, the Chinese online community passed a video of a group of people counting together a huge pile of money.
The video was identified as being filmed in Anhui province. Specifically, after organizing a funeral for a local 79-year-old grandmother surnamed Truong, the family cleaned up her house and discovered a huge cash box.
This money consists mainly of change, but because the amount is too large, the family had to mobilize up to 14 people to help count.
After an afternoon of hard work counting each bill, everyone summed up 52,290.7 yuan (about 177 million VND).
Before her death, Mrs. Truong worked as a water seller on the village road. The old woman’s son said:
“Probably to get this savings, my mother had to work very hard, normally she did not dare to spend extravagantly, even when she was sick. Unfortunately, she didn’t get a chance to use this money.”
The family was so moved by the unexpected gift of the late mother, the son decided to keep a few coins as a souvenir.
Ms. Truong is an example of how the elderly are not ready to die, as the average life expectancy of Asians is increasing.
In China, many elderly people decide to work for the rest of their lives because they do not want or cannot rely on their children. Many children also admit that they do not understand their parents anymore.
