Loki is one of the most important projects in the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Not only answering the question of where Marvel’s god of deception went after the incident in Avengers: Endgame, this series also directly exploits the idea of multiverse – the main theme that Marvel Studios is pursuing, thereby opening way for a series of other works such as Spider-Man: No Way Home or Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.
Loki will be back for at least one more season to continue his unfinished multiverse journey. However, before that, Marvel Studios built a completely different ending for this character, a much softer ending instead of pushing Loki into the chaos of space and time like the main broadcast version. awake.

What happened in Loki’s ending?
Before we move on to the final version of the Loki series, let’s review what happened in the official Marvel Studios broadcast.
After a long journey to expose the true nature of the Time Variance Authority (TVA), Loki, along with Sylvie, another variant of him in the Marvel multiverse, found the Citadel at the End of Time ( The Forbidden City is the end of time.) There, they had the opportunity to meet a mysterious man, claiming to be He Who Remains.
He Who Remains is actually a scientist from the future, and also the one who discovered and opened the doors connecting the timelines in the Marvel universe. However, some other variations of this character have waged multiverse wars to show their power.

After all, He Who Remains was the winner of that war, while creating a unique timeline to ensure such chaotic multiverse events don’t happen in the future. He controls everything that happens in this timeline and founded the TVA organization to help handle branching timelines, like what happened in the first season of Loki.
He Who Remains made an offer for Loki and Sylvie to take over their positions. However, because of the deep feud with TVA, Sylvie killed him, thereby liberating the multiverse that had been confined in a single timeline. Loki is sent to TVA’s headquarters in an alternate reality, which has been taken over by another variant of He Who Remains.
Another ending for Loki
In the book Marvel’s Loki: The Art Of The Series, released on November 2, Wesley Burt, the project’s illustrator, revealed another ending for Marvel’s deceitful god.
Specifically, after a journey full of ups and downs and no shortage of misfortunes in the MCU, Loki finally found peace for himself. He went to a completely different world, wearing different costumes to show his change in thinking and attitude.
According to the original idea, Loki will go to new worlds, put on new clothes and stay away from “the world” in the MCU – Photo: Marvel Studios.
Wesley said: “These costumes were created as our goodbye to Loki and will be worn by him in the final segment of the film. Loki has grown and changed a lot, and he himself has become calmer at that time. Loki should have had his own journey in a completely different world.”
“Some of the costumes were designed to match the TVA uniform that Loki wore during the first season. Think of it as a customized version just for him. And some of the other suits are designed based on variations of Loki in the Marvel comics.”
“I also like the idea of Loki being a ‘dress-up’ person. So we created a couple of jacket-like suits with double belts, straps, and a variety of coat attachments.”
What awaits Loki in season 2?

Loki season 2 will welcome the return of most of the main roles in season 1, including Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) or Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson). In addition, Quan Ke Huy, the actor who appeared in the blockbuster Everything Everywhere All At Once, will also participate in this project.
The upcoming season will see Sylvie’s direct after-action effects on the Marvel multiverse, both positive and negative. At this point, He Who Remains no longer controls the MCU’s timeline, allowing other versions of him to rise and prepare for the next multiverse war.
The most prominent of them is Kang the Conqueror, the next villain of the Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania movie, and most likely the “final boss” of the MCU in the next stages. In addition, Loki season 2 will also answer the question of who is running TVA – Kang, or another variant of him.
As expected, Loki season 2 will air in mid-2023 on Disney+.
