The author of Berserk – Artist Kentarou Miura has passed away, leaving a masterpiece of manga that is still unfinished.
Today, Hakusensha publisher announced that mangaka Kentarou Miura – author of the popular manga series Berserk passed away on May 6, he was 54 years old.
The late mangaka Miura was born on July 11, 1966 in Chiba Prefecture. He launched his first professional manga series titled “Futatabi…” (Once More…) in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 1985. Miura subsequently published a one-shot version of the manga. Berserk in Hakusensha’s Monthly Comicomi magazine in 1988. He launched the Berserk series in Hakusensha’s Monthly Animal House magazine in 1989, and has since continued to run in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine to this day. To date, the series has more than 40 million copies in circulation.
