Kodoani.com – Manga creator Chūya Koyama revealed on Twitter on Saturday that the author plans to start the final season of the manga. Space Brothers their own this year.
Koyama announced in December 2017 that the manga is heading to “final development”.
“I do not know [manga] how many years will it go on,” he said, “but the final hit is coming.” He added, “it could be a pretty long final boom, but I appreciate the support from now on.”
The Space Brothers manga tells the story of the following two brothers, Mutta and Hibito, who swore as children to travel into space. Hibito’s brother became an astronaut, but not Mutta. However, Mutta’s life changed one fateful day.
Koyama launched the manga in Morning magazine in 2007, and Kodansha published the manga’s 40th volume on September 22. The manga won the General category in both the 56th Shogakukan Manga Awards and the Shogakukan Manga Awards. The 35th Kodansha manga in 2011.
The manga not only adapted the 2012-2014 anime, but also a 2012 live-action film starring Shun Oguri and Masaki Okada. Volume 29 manga comes with a DVD special edition of Space Brothers # 0 (Uchū Kyodai # 0) anime movie. Koyama wrote the original script for the “origin story” film.
