The first gameplay trailer for Callisto Protocol reveals a cramped space filled with screams of terror and bloodthirsty enemies.
In years, there’s never been anything quite like Dead Space, a series of survival horror games that let players dismember monsters in space with its terrifying detail and gore. That is changing with the upcoming game – The Callisto Protocol is made by many of the same developers to be a spiritual sequel and its screenshots are sure to get fans excited.
Now, players have to stretch even harder as The Callisto Protocol reveals more details on what players can expect. At Summer Game Fest, players were shown a trailer for the game. One of these showcases the setup and some of the story rhythms, while the other is a full gameplay trailer.
The game begins with the character the player controls, presumably early in the game, as the character is largely unarmored. A brief hologram shows a pair of doctors trying but failing to save a patient before he breaks free and attacks everyone in the room. A dead body on the floor quickly becomes a worry for the player when a space zombie rushes through the door. Reflecting some of the art style of The Callisto Protocol, it is briefly stopped by a new gravity gun and then torn apart by five bullets. Unfortunately, another small threat fell from the ceiling, leaving the player with no time to rest. The result was a particularly brutal speed battle before the zombies were pushed back and ended with a shot to the head.
