The story revolves around demonic creatures that kidnap villagers without explanation
Star Fruit Books announced on June 5 that the publisher has licensed Hideshi Hino’s horror manga The City of Pigs (Kyōfu!! Buta no Machi: Akuma ga Machi ni Yattekuru). The company notes that the release will mark the first time in over a decade that one of Hino’s manga has been released in English.
The company describes the manga:
One night, under the blood-red moon glistening with demonic beauty, a group of demonic creatures armed with axes and spears on horseback arrived in a quiet city. One by one, they filled the villagers with cages and carried them away without any explanation… I almost escaped alive.
Pre-orders for the manga will begin in July, and Star Fruit Books is slated to release the manga in the fourth quarter of 2021. The original one-volume manga debuted in Japan in 1985.
Blast Books previously released Hino’s Hell Baby and Panorama of Hell manga in English, and DH Publishing (not related to Dark Horse Comics) published Hino’s Living Corpse and Red manga in English.
