Kodoani.com – Manga gag “The 3-Mei-sama” (The Three Young-Men in Midnight) by Maco-Ching Ishihara is becoming the inspiration for a new live-action project titled “The 3 Meisama Ω” (pronounced “omega”) this year. Project The project will include a new live-action series that will premiere on the Fuji TV On Demand streaming service on May 24, along with a live-action special titled “The 3 Meisama Ω” (Doesn't this already count as trouble?!) will be shown in Japan on August 30.
The series' official YouTube channel is streaming an announcement video, introducing a trio of familiar actors from the series.
Actors from the previous live-action series including Ryūta Satō, Yoshinori Okada and Takashi Tsukamoto will play their three Futoshi friends, known as Jumbo, Mattsun and Mickey, respectively. Tamae Andō and Nashiko Momotsuki also return as waitresses, and Daisuke Kobayashi also returns as a waiter.
Takeshi Moriya is directing the new work at Atmovie with Ryōta Koyama.
“The Story of 3-Mei-sama” is about random late-night conversations between three aimless friends at a family restaurant.
The manga was originally serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine from 2000 to 2007.
The manga adapted the anime “3-Mei-sama: Anime wa Anime de Arissho!” in February 2009.
