Kadokawa revealed in her new promotional video for Yū Shimizu and Asagi Tōsaka’s Light Novel as Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy (Seiken Gakuin no Maken Tsukai) being adapted into an anime. The announcement did not reveal any further details. Saki Miyashita narrates the video below.
Yen Press is publishing the light novel in English and it describes the story:
Awakening from magical stagnation after a thousand years, the Dark Lord Leonis suddenly finds himself in the body of a ten-year-old boy! he soon meets Riselia, a girl who confronts the Voids, creatures that have nearly destroyed humanity. Determined to uncover the mysteries of this strange new era, Leonis enrolls in Excalibur Academy, a school that trains students to fight against these mysterious monsters. Could the Voids hold some connection to Leonis’ past?
Kadokawa published the first volume of the Shimizu novel series with illustrations by Tōsaka in May 2019 and will publish the eighth volume on October 25. Yen Press published the fourth volume in English on October 12. October.
Asuka Keigen launched a manga of the novel by Kadokawa in Shounen Ace magazine in May 2019. Kadokawa will publish the fourth volume of the manga on the 26th.
Shimizu launched the Blade Dance of Elementalers (Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance) light novel series in 2010, and ended the series with its 20th volume in March 2019. Artist Issei Hyōju (MM!) drew the manga in Monthly manga with Alive Magazine from 2012 to January 2017. The light novel series inspired a television anime in 2014.
