Kodoani.com – The February issue of Kadokawa’s Alive Comic monthly magazine revealed on December 25 that Mugiko’s manga is – Detective is dead – The Detective is Already Dead (Tantei wa mo, Shindeiru) will be taking a break, and will return to adapt the third volume of the original novels starting in the May issue on March 26.
The magazine’s December issue announced in October, the manga will culminate in the magazine on November 27. The magazine published the epilogue for the current season on December 25.
Yen Press is publishing the original novels in English and it describes the story:
The novel revolves around Kimihiko Kimizuka, a third-year high school student and former assistant to a detective named Siesta. He had made his acquaintance with Siesta three years ago, at 10,000 meters above the ground in a hijacked plane. The two went on a death-defying adventure for three years that ultimately ended with Siesta’s untimely death. Left alone, Kimihiko tries her best to reintegrate into normal life.
Mugiko launched the manga in Monthly Comic Alive in May 2020, and Kadokawa published the manga’s fourth compiled book volume on December 23.
Nigojū published the first volume of the light novel series with illustrations by Umibōzu in November 2019 under the direction of Kadokawa’s MF Bunko J. The novel won the 15th MF Bunko J Newbie Award in 2019. Kadokawa published the sixth volume on November 25.
The novel inspired a television anime that premiered on July 4.
