Ryu Mizunagi’s romantic comedy manga launched in 2010, and inspired the 2014 anime series
May issue of Kodansha Good! Afternoon revealed on Wednesday Ryu Mizunagi’s Witchcraft Works manga is entering its final season.
Vertical is publishing the manga in English and it describes the story:
Honoka Takamiya is an average student. Ayaka Kagari, a talented girl in sports, excels in studies, tops everything. Of course she also has the strongest magic on earth. Although studying close to each other in school, the whole school year, the two never talked much … until today.
Today when class ends, Takamiya is suddenly attacked by a cat-eared witch and her group of thugs dressed as rabbits! And if that wasn’t shocking enough, this ordinary girl will be saved as a Princess by none other than Ayaka Kagari…a witch herself!
Mizunagi launched the manga in Good! Afternoon in March 2010. Kodansha published the manga’s 15th volume in October 2020. Vertical will publish the 15th volume on April 13.
The manga received a television anime adaptation that premiered in January 2014. The manga’s eighth volume included an original anime disc in 2015.
