A new Mad Max game developed by Avalanche Studios aims to be released in time for fans this year.
In 2015, Avalanche Studios released Mad Max for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game sold well and brought high revenue for publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, despite somewhat mixed reviews. It’s been over six years since the game launched, but it looks like a sequel is in development. Wendy W. Fok posted a 3D scanned photo of herself for a character in Avalanche Studios’ Mad Max 2, playing a rebel role. The problem is that Warner Bros. Mad Max 2 has yet to be announced at this point.
Fok’s tweet can be found below. At this point, even if they deny it, many gamers believe that Mad Max 2 is on the way to launch. The post appears to be authentic, but it’s also possible that Mad Max 2 was in development and was later cancelled. Metro has also speculated that Fok may have made a mistake and that the 3D scan is indeed for Rage 2, which was released by Avalanche and Bethesda in 2019. Unfortunately, there’s no way to know for sure until Warner. Bros made an official announcement. Until then, fans of the game Mad Max will have a long wait.
The original Mad Max led gameplay focused on vehicle combat, although it also allowed the player to control Max to shoot and kill while leaving his vehicle. The game tasks the player with traversing an open world environment where the player can find items to customize both Max and his car.
While the game was released in the same year as Mad Max Fury Road, the game has an original storyline. Presumably, the sequel will see these elements improved, possibly taking advantage of the next-gen capabilities of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. There are plenty of ways that Avalanche could expand and if so If it’s true, Mad Max fans have every reason to have high hopes for this new project.
