Kodoani.com – Team 3’s kaiju-killing prodigy Kikoru Shinomiya is the newest member of the TV anime team Kaiju No.8 There are character images on the series’ official Twitter account. Shinomiya joins the trio of protagonists Kafka Hibino and Mina Ashiro shortly after the twin-tailed girl is saved by the protagonist’s powerful transformation skills.
Production IG provided animation production for Kaiju No. 8, while Studio Khara provides monster design and artwork. Additional details about the film, such as other key staff members and main cast, have yet to be revealed. Kaiju No. 8 will be broadcast in Japan in 2024.
Original manga Kaiju No. 8 serialized in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ manga magazine, and an English version is also available from VIZ Media, which describes the story of the first volume as follows:
Kafka hopes to one day keep a pact with her childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Self-Defense Forces and fight alongside her. But while she’s out incapacitating the kaiju as Team Three captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change made Kafka eligible for the Self-Defense Force, he decided to try joining the team again. There’s only one problem – he’s been on the Self-Defense Force’s disable list under the codename Kaiju #8.
