The latest Scorn trailer reveals that the survival horror game will be available on PC and Xbox Series X/S later this year.
Today’s Xbox & Bethesda Gaming Showcase is packed with exciting new trailers for gamers to keep an eye on. The show opens with a first look at the gameplay of Redfall and is followed by other popular games. However, Redfall isn’t the only horror game on Xbox’s list, with Scorn also revealing its gameplay and release time later in the show.
Ebb Software originally announced Scorn in 2014 and then teased it coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S in May 2020. The highly anticipated horror game finally has an official release date. , with a new trailer confirming the game’s release on October 21.
“Scary, bizarre and disgusting” is what the community describes about Scorn and it is really hard to find a better word to describe this surreal psychological horror game by Ebb Software. The trailer opens with footage of a strange human body on an alien landscape. The footage then shifts to the eerie cell-filled corridors of where Scorn takes place. The next scene caused quite a bit of discomfort for gamers when it showed the main character pulling the alien’s umbilical cord out of his stomach. However, the protagonist’s mutated skin shows that this person has not escaped the biological corruption of the Scorn world.
The rest of the 1-minute 20-second trailer goes by quickly, but shows off a lot of content in that time. After arming himself with one of Scorn’s strange biological weapons, the protagonist runs through the alien facility, solving puzzles and fending off strange creatures. Everything here is pretty terrible in its own right, with tentacles, nerves, and flesh all over the place. Even the environment and non-enemies are similar, such as machines made from horribly chopped but still alive human bodies.
The final scene of Scorn’s latest gameplay trailer is a slow-motion shot into a cathedral-like structure. It’s unclear exactly what this towering mansion is, but it could be the focus of whatever’s going on in the game. Getting there can be an essential part of achieving the protagonist’s goal. The design of the game makes Scorn’s dramatic influence as clear as day while showcasing the talent of the game’s animators.
Gamers still don’t know much about Scorn other than its uniquely disgusting design, and the latest trailer has only raised more questions from the community. We still don’t even know if the main character is a mutant human or some kind of organic structure, or what the purpose of this alien facility might be. Perhaps gamers will have to find the answer themselves when Scorn releases later this year.
