Overlord is the story of a witch named Momonga, who tries to stay in his favorite VR game when the servers are down, and realizes that the game world still runs when the servers are closed. This series has many humorous episodes, but there is no shortage of dark moments on that side. Momonga is an anit-hero, he doesn’t hesitate to use his tremendous power to waste hundreds of lives if it helps him achieve his goal. Basically, this is a dark comedy anime, but if the audience is looking for a story with world destruction, then Overlord is definitely the ideal choice.
2. Grimgar of Fantasy And Ash
Grimgar of Fantasy And Ash still has its bright moments, but it’s not telling when placed in a heavy story. A group of teenagers are trapped in another world, where they don’t remember how they came to this world, don’t understand how the world works, and are asked to fight for money and survival. They don’t know how to fight, all they can do is stick together…. And even maintaining this fragile link is difficult.
3. Re: Creators
Re: Creators is one of those anime with an interesting concept. Unlike most of the usual isekai series, the series goes against the plot where characters from other worlds come to our world. A lot of characters from other universes to the real world… and what they all have in common is that they all come from fictional novels created by otherworldly authors. What if a character could confront the person responsible for all their troubles?
4. Arifureta
Arifureta’s protagonist is a typical geek who, with his education, is transported to a fantasy world. Hajime is the most useless while his classmates possess very useful skills, yet he is still willing to play a supporting role… Everything changes when Hajime falls off the cliff and has to be free. I fight. Also on this occasion, he faced his own weakness as well as renewed himself to have enough strength when he returned.
5. Rising of the Shield Hero
Shield Hero starts off pretty dark like any other isekai. The main character goes to another world, betrayed by those who beg him for help. With no other way to defend himself, the main character is forced to find a way to live by shady plots. Although the end of the story is quite complete, but throughout the details are quite gloomy.
