Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who play Joel and Ellie in the game, have also been revealed to be starring in the HBO movie adaptation, though the characters they will play have not been revealed. The remake of the first game has also received a teaser trailer, and fans are told that the game will be called The Last of Us Part 1 and will launch on September 2, 2022.
