The LCK organizers even planned for the situation of winning the MSI 2022 to split tickets for Worlds 2022.
According to the new format from 2021, the region that won the MSI tournament will have one more ticket to attend Worlds in the same year. To adapt to this new format, the LCK has also announced new rules to select representatives to attend Worlds 2022.
RNG has brought LPL another place to attend Worlds in 2021.
More specifically, if the LCK representative wins the MSI 2022 championship and has 4 tickets to the 2022 World Championship, the ticket division will change as follows:
The LCK Summer Champion team has a direct ticket to Worlds 2022 with the 1st seed position, the team with the most Championship Points (excluding the summer champion team) will win the ticket as the 2nd seed.
The two teams with the most Championship Points (excluding the team with tickets) will compete for the 3rd seed ticket. The losing team in this match will play with the winner of the match between the two top 3-4 teams (Championship Points). ).
The LCK teams will compete with the same frequency as VCS Winter 2021.
Besides, the LCK Spring 2022 will also take place with a denser schedule, this is to create free time for the selection process to represent Korea to attend the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
Therefore, LCK Spring 2022 will be held 5 days a week (from Wednesday to Sunday), each day will have 2 matches. It is expected that the group stage of the tournament will start from January 12 and end after 2 months like VCS Winter 2021 (excluding the Lunar New Year holiday).
Finally, the LCK organizers will announce one more position in the teams called “Power Analyst”. Basically, Power Analyst will have some powers of the coach to monitor and analyze the matches as efficiently as possible. However, teams are not required to have a Power Analyst.
