1. Ruu
Players will meet Ruu on Tsurumi Island through a series of quests called “Journey of the Sea of Mist”. This is one of the most emotional missions in the game and brought many players to tears.
Accordingly, Ruu is a spirit that has lived on the island for thousands of years and befriended the Thunderbird, even naming it Kanna Kapatcir. Ruu was the one who actively sacrificed himself to save the island, but he was later murdered by the islanders. When Thunderbird learned about it, it destroyed the entire Tsurumi island and started a time loop on this island.
“Journey of the Sea of Mist” is a very long series of quests, requiring the player to investigate, discover everything, remove the curse and then return Ruu’s soul to a peaceful place. After completing the quest, Ruu’s soul stays in the “Strange Feather” item. It was kept by the traveler and carried on adventures around the world. The item’s caption also makes the player feel sad: “Take this feather around the world. I promised her anyway”.
2. Jeht
Jeht is one of the important characters leading the player in the desert area of the Sumeru Grassland. This young girl has appeared in a series of quests in this place and together with gamers discover the mysteries of the desert, the ancient tombs and the secrets of the inhabitants of Eremite.
During the first mission, Jeht and her father helped the traveler and scholar Akademiya explore the Red King’s pyramid and surrounding tombs. Later, she helped the traveler find the eternal and mysterious oasis surrounding this place. The plot of these lands is also closely related to the story of Jeht’s parents. Besides, her cheerful, friendly personality and beautiful shape also help players have a lot of sympathy for her.
3. Dunyarzad
Dunyarzad plays an important role in the ghost quest chapter 3, helping the traveler learn the mystery of Emir Kusanali and the current state of the Sumeru Grassland. This girl is a rich person, but has a mysterious disease that makes her physically weak all the time. Therefore, Dehya is hired to protect and take care of her.
During the demonic quest chain, the traveler is locked in a time loop, which causes Dunyarzad to become weaker and weaker, leading to danger to his life. This prompted the traveler to quickly find the secret behind the time loop and rescue Dunyarzad.
4. Katheryne
Katheryne is the front desk girl of the adventurers association, who manages the day-to-day fiduciary duties and hands it over to the traveller. In addition, she is also providing important information to travelers before they begin a new mission.
The appearance of Katheryne surprised many players because she appeared all over the continent of Teyvat. This made many players curious and the mystery was explained in the Sumeru continent. Accordingly, Katheryne is a robot puppet from Snezhnaya, similar to the puppet of Raiden Shogun – Scaramouche.
5. Paimon
Although many players find Paimon annoying, there really is no NPC as important as Paimon. The traveler’s “flying friend” has appeared since the beginning of the game, but no one knows where Paimon’s origin is from. However, this “food reserve” swore that he would follow the traveler to the ends of the earth.
Paimon is a rather gluttonous companion character, but very loyal and kind, ready to help whenever the player needs it. That alone makes Paimon the most loved NPC character in Genshin Impact.
