Tatsunoko Pro announced a special trailer video on December 23 for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War, the studio’s television anime based on Nihon Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold game franchise. .
The anime’s Twitter account also announced on December 23 that Nami Nakagawa (MIT GATHERING) will be performing the ending theme song “Proud Hero”. Watch the video below for a preview of the song.

Anime The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War will premiere on January 6, 2023. Crunchyroll will stream the anime worldwide outside of Japan.

Hidekazu Sato (Aquarion Logos, Basquash!, The Slayers Next) is in the director’s chair. Mina Osawa (The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest) is serving as the character designer. Shouji Hara (PriPara) is credited as the original character designer. Mao Emura is in charge of verifying the story for the animation as well as creating the series along with Hideki Ryouga. Singer Chisato Akita (MIT GATHERING) will perform the opening theme song “The story so far”.
The anime was originally announced as a global project with the participation of Taiwanese game company UserJoy (developer of Falcom’s works in Asia outside of Japan), Funimation, the content fund SYOU, and the company. anime production and planning company NADA.
The original game series depicts the story of Rean Schwarzer in a military academy in the Erebonian Empire, but the anime will feature a story centered on the western part of the Zemurian continent based on the game.
The anime itself will have a mobile game released next year. The game will feature an original story and new characters in addition to stories from the anime series and games.
