The Journey to Justice, which is a remake of a very popular American movie, is making the audience feel… tired.

The film tells about Phuong (Hong Diem) – a lawyer who quits her job and stays at home to take care of her children so that her husband, Viet, deputy director of a large company, can develop his career. The incident happened when Viet was exposed to a hot clip with a girl…
Overcoming the shock of losing trust with her husband, Phuong decided to return to the legal profession with the help of friends. The episodes tell the story of Phuong dealing with the relationship in her family and the cases that she takes on.
Lack of emphasis, rambling
The film aired to episode 24, many viewers commented that the film was rambling with the story that the movie was not going anywhere. Some people even said that the movie should be renamed “Angry Journey”.
Unfortunately, Journey to Justice is a Vietnameseized film from the famous American work The Good Wife.
Airing on CBS since 2009 and ending in 2016 with seven seasons, the series won five Emmy Awards – the Television Critics Association’s award – in 2014.
The film is highly appreciated for its insight into politics and law. Many countries have remade Good Wife, in which Korea has done very successfully.

At the press conference to launch The Journey to Justice, Mr. Khai Anh – VFC deputy director – said that the US law is very different from that of Vietnam, so the film scriptwriter team was very concerned about how to edit the film to make it look like a movie. The film attracts Vietnamese audiences.
And director Nguyen Mai Hien – successful with the political genre – when making the film also said that: “The film is told with a psychological story. Phuong is a different character from the original version, Phuong is good in my way. “.
Choosing a different way of expressing the original version, watching Journey of Justice, the audience easily realized that the film was intertwined with many genres such as family psychology, law and even strong female elements. Does the film have to deal with many problems, so the film lacks emphasis, rambling, and lengthy?
The most obvious minus point in this movie is that the acting is not good between Viet Anh (as Viet – the husband) and Hong Diem (as Phuong’s wife), making the love story of this couple not emotional.

Viet Anh shows a roll of eyes in every episode, acting stiffly. And the role of Hong Diem faded and mixed with the previous characters that she incarnated.
Another pity of the film is that the cases are not well-constructed. Scenes of the trial, the personalities of the lawyers are quite blurred. Even some legal details in the film are controversial.
Attractive job but difficult to film
The Journey to Justice is an example of the difficulty in the genre of films that exploit the profession, especially the legal professions – which require precise lines and standards of behavior. Movies of this genre, besides the advantages of stimulating the viewer’s curiosity, are easily “scrutinized” by viewers and people in the profession.
Director Tuong Phuong, who made the series of Court Stories, said he meets many characters to hear them tell their stories as well as read and study law books, attend court hearings so that he can reenact the trials. court in the movie.

“Art has creativity but needs to stick to life. Behind the trials are the characters and the human condition, so I chose to make films towards the human condition,” he said.
Writer Dang Thanh said that she had previously made the film When the Client Was a Lover – a little bit of a career as a lawyer. The film is related to the law of inheritance, civil status… She said: “When I write, I also dodge enough, put in many situations to create drama so that the audience … forget the law a little to make it easier for me to breathe”.
According to screenwriter Dang Thanh: “Making movies about professions is very difficult, especially about the law. Usually law films have a lawyer who follows the situation closely.
After going to the set, it is also necessary to have someone knowledgeable in the law follow to advise the whole film crew to ensure the legality and nature of the case. On the other hand, the production budget for Vietnamese films is low, so it’s really not that simple to create quality and attractive trials.”
The Journey to Justice broadcasts from Monday to Wednesday every week at 9:40 pm on channel VTV3. The film has the participation of actors Nhu Quynh, Hong Diem, Viet Anh, Quoc Huy, Thu Quynh, Ha Viet Dung…
