The drama of the handsome Hospital Playlist cooled down in episode 2 because it was influenced by a hit program.
The Interest of Love is a new JTBC drama, marking the return of “Hospital Playlist” Yoo Yeon Seok. The movie debuted with a pretty good rating of 3.124% even though it was broadcast midweek on cable stations. But just in episode 2, the rating dropped to only 1.9%, a number that surprised the audience because in fact, the quality of The Interest of Love was rated as quite high.
The reason is said to be due to the influence of the program Mr. Trot 2 of TV Chosun – a program that selects singers to sing Trot music. This is a program that once caused a storm in Korea, with a rating of up to 35.7% for the last episode of season 1. Mr. Trot season 2, which aired the first issue, also had a positive start when recording a rating of over 20%, which is forecast to create a “Trot storm” in the near future and The Interest of Love will still be affected.
The Interest of Love is the romantic story of four young strangers who accidentally meet at the Youngpo branch of KCU Bank. Ha Sang Su (Yoo Yeon Seok) pursues an ordinary life with the belief that happiness is stability. Due to the arrival of love, his life becomes full of turmoil. And the girl who makes Hang Su fall in love is Ahn Su Yeong (Moon Ga Young) – who used to think that love is something that doesn’t last forever. The other two are Park Mi Gyeong (Keum Sae Rok) and Jeong Jong Hyun (Jung Ga Ram). If Mi Gyeong comes from a rich family, is a person full of determination and strength, Jong Hyun has a rather difficult life situation, trying to become a police officer. Four people are completely different colors, accidentally meet and develop good feelings.
Just aired 2 episodes, The Interest of Love is considered to have simple, gentle content, close to real life, away from drama, reminiscent of the “brothers of the same station” as the Diary of Freedom Of I. The film’s not-so-fast pacing combined with a wonderful, poetic setting, makes for a healing movie for the last days of the year.

The relationship of the main couple Yoo Yeon Seok – Moon Ga Young also develops very quickly, without trouble, and is as lengthy as how many current Korean films deploy. It is not known whether this relationship will encounter barriers or waves after that, but in the immediate future, their feelings make the audience feel fluttering. In particular, Yoo Yeon Seok’s acting was judged by the audience as too “crazy”, every gesture and gaze showed the character’s sincerity and inner turmoil.
All in all, The Interest of Love is really a work of good quality, quite perfect from acting to content. If not encountering a big opponent like Mr. Trot 2, perhaps the film’s achievement will be even better.
