Wanda Maximoff is probably one of the superheroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe whose life has suffered the most. As a child, she suffered the loss of her parents, and was trapped with a Stark Industries bomb that fortunately didn’t explode.
After that, in almost every appearance in the MCU, Wanda Maximoff experienced new tragedies. When Wanda finished her final battle, her life was empty. She lost her brother Pietro Maximoff – the superhero Quicksilver, in the battle of Avengers: Age of Ultron. She lost Vision, the love of her life, to Thanos when he pulled the Wisdom Stone from his forehead, causing him to die right in front of Wanda’s eyes.
1. Avengers: Age of Ultron – The Death of Pietro
Pietro Maximoff is Wanda’s twin, so there is a strong bond between them. Unfortunately in Age of Ultron, Pietro was killed by Ultron. Pietro’s death adds to the tragedy in Wanda’s life. But that was not the last bitter tragedy Wanda had to endure.
2. Captain America: Civil War – Lagos . Tragedy
In Captain America: Civil War, Brock Rumlow tries to blow himself up. With her powers, Wanda managed to keep Rumlow away from innocent people. But there was a problem, that was Wanda moved Rumlow too close to a building, and when Rumlow exploded, the explosion affected a nearby building and killed many people. Wanda felt extremely guilty about this.
Wanda and the heroes supporting Captain America were also captured during Civil War. They were later freed by Captain America, but Wanda was the one who became fugitives.
3. Avengers: Infinity War – Had to kill Vision with his magic, then Thanos killed Vision again
In Avengers: Infinity War, Wanda must destroy Vision to destroy the Mind Stone with his own power. Unfortunately, Wanda’s sacrifice was in vain, as Thanos was able to go back in time with the Time Stone and restore Vision, who then took the Mind Stone from Vision and killed him again.
So in Endgame, Wanda was very angry with Thanos. Even though the Thanos she fights in Endgame is the 2014 Thanos, not the 2018 Thanos.
4. WandaVision – Lost the Vision she created with Chaos Magic, as well as her children
The movie WandaVision is Marvel’s revolution when it delves into the pain of Wanda character after the devastating events in the Avengers movie series. Wanda’s deep suffering is the beginning of a manipulated reality in Westview City. Especially after she found out that Vision bought the house, so that he and she could live together.
At the end of this film, Wanda then loses both the Vision she created, as well as Billy and Tommy Maximoff, her children with Vision at Westview.
