Suddenly one fine day this woman saw over 100 private videos of another girl on her iPad.
A Lou woman in Chongqing, China suddenly discovered nearly 120 private videos of another girl on her iPad. At the same time, she also found many strange chat messages that were not hers. Ms. Thai contacted the account owner of the other videos and messages to find out the incident but has not yet received a response.
Suddenly appeared 120 sensitive clips on my iPad.
Earlier, Ms. Lou and her husband were using an iPad when they suddenly discovered that there were many personal and sensitive videos of a strange girl in the video hosting platform on the device. Lou estimates there must be more than 100 videos.
After looking through, Ms. Lou discovered that the account that was logged in on the computer to store these clips was not her account, she said:
“It’s not my account, moreover the ID showing the location is that the other account holder is also in Chongqing.”
Ms. Lou wondered that this iPad she just bought from 2021, properly peeled off the genuine seal, not an old one, and has never lent it to anyone. The only two people who ever used it were Mrs. Lou and her husband.
After a while of researching again, Ms. Lou remembered that once she lent her iPad to her younger brother, her brother used a different phone number to create an account and log into the device. This phone number was later sold by her sister and no longer used, so it is possible that the videos are from one of the new owners of the phone number.
Ms. Lou said:
“Maybe someone bought that phone number and used the account created, so the video synced to my device.”
According to the images in the other sensitive videos, the account owner is a female, or a pervert who has a hobby of collecting girls’ private videos. Ms. Lou has actively contacted the account holder but has not received a response.
The reporter contacted the video hosting platform during the incident and received an answer that this is entirely possible. Because the previous account on Ms. Lou’s iPad has not been logged out, by default all subsequent activities are synchronized to the device.
A representative of the video hosting platform also said that unless the user changes the password, the account will not automatically log out of previous devices:
“If the actual owner of the account changes the password, older devices will be asked to confirm and have to re-enter the password.”
The platform also said that it is not clear why the new owner of the other phone number is able to use the video hosting account without the account’s password. Maybe this person accidentally knew or was told by her brother Lou’s old account password. As for Ms. Lou, it is possible that her iPad was logged into 2 accounts at the same time, so the account of the other phone number has not been logged out.
