This Korean film’s heroine bravely defended her husband against the oppression of the whole family.
Broadcasting on KBS2 and having the highest viewership ratings on Korean screens today, The Real Has Come is facing a precarious reputation when it drops in viewership. But entering the latest episode 20, The Real Has Come’s reputation is on the rise again thanks to the explosion of the female lead who has always been gentle.
In episode 20 of The Real Has Come, the female lead Yeon Doo (Baek Jin Hee) had a scene that made a strong impression on the audience. Witnessing her husband Tae Kyung (Ahn Jae Hyun) being bullied and criticized by her family, even her lovely grandmother, for no reason, she bravely stood up to protect him.
Yeon Doo gets mad at her husband’s family
In this “fever” scene, Yeon Doo frankly criticized the attitude of each member, asserting that he would not ignore everything because of his role, only caring about right and wrong. She expressed indignation when over and over again, for the past 20 years Tae Kyung had to endure his family. She expressed frustration at her grandmother for controlling everything about her grandson, while also scolding her grandson for controlling her.
Grandma disappoints Yeon Doo
Then, she went over to the members one by one, “confessing” to them for treating Tae Kyung badly. For example, Ji Myung’s sister because of her bitter words, did not consider Tae Kyung as her brother. Or, the oldest brother Chun Myung was also criticized for thinking that Tae Kyung was a family problem. In the end, Yeon Doo asks the family to apologize to Tae Kyung for keeping him isolated for many years with harsh words, and that she will never leave the house and leave him alone.
She is willing to expose others for mistreatment of her husband
The segment received praise from the audience when it “stirred up” the plot of the movie after a few previously quiet and depressed episodes. Many people praised the bravery of the female lead when she was right on her husband’s side, ready to voice his displeasure despite the oppression of the husband’s family in terms of numbers and roles.
Audience comments:
– Come here, I see Yeon Doo is really respectable.
– Not every daughter-in-law is so brave in real life, so I commend Yeon Doo.
– Ahn Jae Hyun stood still and acted dumbly…
– Don’t like the grandmother character, controlling her children too much.
The proof is that after airing, episode 20 of “The Real Has Come” recorded quite good viewership ratings, bringing the series back to 20% of the national average for the first time after many episodes of lack of breath. However, it will still be a huge challenge for KBS2’s prime time slot project to return to the highest level of 23.1% when the drama is now halfway through.
