According to the announcement, the 12th League of Legends (LoL) season will end at 23:59 on November 14. After that, the publisher Riot Games locked ranked mode to prepare to update the 2023 Pre-Season version. This year, they changed many Tank and Mage equipment, and comprehensively upgraded the Jungle area for player. Most especially, the Summoner spell will be comprehensively revised in the near future.
Jungle Pets are a very interesting feature in the 2023 Pre-Season
In the 2023 Pre-Season, the 2 old Dagger equipment was removed to make room for 3 pets to assist the player in the Jungle. There are 3 different types of pets including: Ixtal Iguana, Noxus Fire Cat and Ionian Fox. They will provide different stats, suitable for the role of each different group of champions. Additionally, the Smite summoner spell was changed in this year’s Pre-Season. Players even have to complete the task of completing the stack of large monsters to upgrade summoner spells. The important milestone for strengthening will be 2 numbers 21 and 40 targets.
Junglers now have 3 levels of summoner spells: Regular Smite, Unleash Smite, and Primal Smite. When purchasing Jungle equipment, the player will summon a pet to assist in clearing the jungle, dealing large area damage (ST) each time the player attacks a monster unit. Smite’s ST is now 600 instead of 450.
Smite at level 1 is now stronger than before
If the player has 21 stacks of large monster units, they will have their summoner spell upgraded from basic Smite to unleashed Smite. Summoner spells now deal 900 ST to monsters and can be cast on enemy champions. Target takes true ST based on level and is slowed by 20% movement speed for 2 seconds. The biggest difference between the 3 types of pets lies in the function of each type of Smite when the summoner spell is raised to the highest level.
When the player has accumulated 21 large monsters, the player can activate Smite on enemy champions
At the time of completing 40 stacks, the Jungle item will disappear, saving 1 place to store other items. When the player activates on an enemy champion, the opponent takes true ST based on level and is slowed by 20% movement speed for 2 seconds. Furthermore, Junglers also get 30% reduction in ST gain from large targets (Dragon, Elder Dragon, Baron Nashor) if at least 2 allies are nearby. The Summoner Spell Smite after maxing out will deal 1200 ST to the main target and half of that to nearby targets.
Punishment after maxing out will have a wide-ranging effect.
In addition, players also receive special functions of 3 types of pets as follows:
– Noxus Fire Cat: The player gains stacks of Fire Cat when defeating jungle monsters. Attacking an opponent with 100 stacks applies an effect that slows movement speed by 30% and decays over time, and burns 4% of maximum health for 4 seconds.
– Ionian Fox: When moving into the dust, the player will gain 45% bonus movement speed and decays over 2 seconds. The number is increased to 60% if the owner kills a large monster.
– Ixtal iguana: Players gain a permanent shield that interacts with levels when defeating jungle monsters. The shield is converted to health restored 10 seconds out of combat. They will increase their resistance by 20% while the shield is active and after 3 seconds if it is broken.
Jungle equipment now has a separate effect upon completing the highest level quest
The biggest difference between the 3 types of pets lies in the effect after completing the task to accumulate 40 stacks. At that time, Noxus Fire Cat, Ionian Fox, and Ixtal salamander will be suitable for groups of Junglers: attack, mobility and defense, respectively. Therefore, players need to think carefully in choosing the right Jungle equipment in the 2023 Pre-Season.
