The female idol SNSD reappeared, but the film was not very successful in terms of viewership ratings.
Fanletter, Please is the newly released movie of female idol Sooyoung (SNSD). Shown on the weekend time slot of MBC but Fanletter, Please only includes 4 episodes. Currently, the series has aired 2 episodes, half of the broadcast process, but recorded extremely modest achievements.
Aired near the same time slot as the two weekend blockbusters, the Youngest Boy of the Tycoon and Under the Shadow of the Middle Palace, Fanletter, Please opened with a rating of only 2%. More importantly, by episode 2, the viewership rate immediately dropped to only 1.3%. Although the rating is not high, but under the movie sites, the audience left many positive comments about this movie. The funny, lovely content and above all, the great chemistry between Sooyoung and Yoon Park are the positive points that the audience talks about Fanletter, Please.
Fanletter, Please revolves around Han Kang Hee (Sooyoung) who is a top actress who started acting at a young age. Constantly encountering negative reactions about a movie of the movie, Kang Hee began to alienate people, even she was afraid of fan letters. During this crisis, she runs into her first love, Jung Seok (Yoon Park).
Once a male idol in school, but now Jung Seok is a rooster raising children, taking care of his sick daughter. Coincidentally, his daughter – Yu Na is a fan of Kang Hee and she wrote a letter to the idol. Because Yu Na’s letter did not reach Kang Hee, Jung Seok wrote it again. From here, Kang Hee and Jung Seok’s relationship gradually reconnected.
In the first two episodes, Sooyoung and Yoon Park appeared with two images, as young and lovely schoolboys, sometimes as adults with full of life worries. Although it is the first time working together, the two are considered to be a very beautiful couple and have a great chemistry with each other. Unfortunately, Fanletter, Please did not create a strong resonance, perhaps partly because the film debuted coincided with too many blockbusters that gathered a cult star cast.
