The second trailer of Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has officially been released with hints about the MCU’s Illuminati power council.
There is more evidence for the existence of the Illuminati in Dr Strange 2
There have been many rumors that the Illuminati will appear in Dr Strange 2, but before the 2nd trailer of Doctor Trang was released, the audience still did not have any evidence to confirm this. But now everything is almost clear through the new trailer of Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
At about 1 minute 15 seconds of the trailer, Doctor Strange was handcuffed and escorted to a group of people. If you pay close attention, Strange will have to face 6 people because in front of him are 6 chairs, the number corresponding to the Illuminati.
The audience can easily recognize that one of the characters opposite Dr Strange is Professor X through previously leaked information. In addition, the new movie will also feature Tom Cruise as a variant of Iron Man, so we have two out of 6 members of the Illuminati revealed.
In addition, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will have up to 3 Strange versions, the first is Dr Strange in the Original Universe, then the Strange Supreme has been revealed in the trailer and finally is Defender Strange. So it’s very likely that one of the other two Strange variants is a member of the guild.
For those who don’t know, the Illuminati were formed shortly after the Kree-Skrull War, making their debut in Avengers #89–97 (1971-1972).
Each guild member represents a certain group of people in the Marvel Universe:
Namor is a ruler of the oceans and represents the anti-heroic mindset.
Tony Stark represents the superhero team Avenger, a knowledgeable and appreciated person, a hero who can work with the government. He also represents the common man, as he has no natural superhuman abilities.
Reed Richards represents the scientific component of the superhero community.
Black Bolt represents the Inhumans, an important race in Marvel history and plays a key role in many upcoming events. He also represents a ruler/a king.
Doctor Stephen Strange represents the mystical/non-scientific side of the Marvel universe.
X-Men professor Charles Xavier represents the mutant community.
It can be seen that Marvel also knows how to pamper fans when all the rumors that appeared before about Dr Strange 2 such as Professor X, Illuminati, Defender Strange, Zombie Strange, Iroman variant, … all appear in the new trailer. However, we should not fully trust the Marvel trailer, because there have been many “tricks” in the company’s previous works.
