Yesterday (February 12) was a remarkable day of the LCK Spring 2022 when all three big men T1, Gen.G and DWG KIA all started. The most disadvantaged team is obviously Gen.G when they lost a lot of key positions because of the epidemic problem, so they lost to T1 too easily with a score of 0-2. Meanwhile, DWG KIA also had a fairly simple 2-0 victory over a bottom-performing Liiv SANDBOX.
T1 still leads the tournament with 8 wins, while DK has regained its form and has 2 wins in a row.
After this match ended, the brightest star of DWG KIA – Canyon has reached a pretty memorable milestone of 2000 support points in the LCK. It can be said that this guy is one of the few “all-powerful” Junglers when he can play all kinds of champions, excelling in both skill handling and map control. Even in the match against T1 a few weeks ago, Canyon was able to “monster” when he hid in the grove unexpectedly and stole Oner’s Red buff at level 1 and almost carried DK to victory.

Maybe that handle was so excellent that even though it’s been almost 2 weeks, Canyon is still being asked about it. Specifically, in an interview with Kookmin Ilbo, Canyon was asked why he came up with that move and did it. Unexpectedly, Canyon’s answer was that he learned from the Vietnamese “Spirit of the Forest” – SofM when they were competing together at Worlds 2020. Canyon even called such sneaks into the opponent’s jungle “di” SofM type conversion”.
Canyon shares these sneaks into the enemy jungle, which he calls “SofM-style moves”.
DK Canyon: “About that jungle situation, I used to call it that ‘SofM move’. I still remember when I was playing at Worlds, there were many teams that used to move together down a certain lane during the tournament. Then I learned from SofM that I should find a way to sneak into the enemy jungle to surprise because the enemy will have to move back to my lane and not check the jungle area carefully.
In game 3 against T1, I saw all 5 opponents in Top lane directly, so I immediately thought of sneaking into their jungle. Fortunately, it worked and made Gwen a lot stronger than the opponent, maybe if it was SofM, he would do the same.”
Canyon used to face SofM at Worlds 2020
Indeed, among the top junglers in the world, SofM appears as a “strange phenomenon” and makes the audience always feel surprised. Back at the time of Worlds 2020, it was the Vietnamese player who surprised everyone when he brought out plays like Lee Sin, Rengar Resist or Shen Go. Therefore, it is quite normal for SofM to use bold moves into the enemy jungle for Canyon to learn.
