Jhin
Indeed, after version 12.1 was released, there were too many factors that made Jhin the leading force in the Tactics Arena. The first is the fact that a series of counters like Kai’Sa – Idols, Chemistry skills have been nerfed and are no longer so cool. Therefore, Jhin will be less likely to have to deal with squads that have too many tanky champions that are both “buffalo” and difficult to defeat. With a limited attack speed champion like Jhin, this unit can hardly defeat Sions and Galio quickly.
Jhin is very shy when encountering units with too much “buffalo” level
Moreover, the fact that Orianna is buffed also helps the team Jhin – Bodyguard much stronger in fighting against meta squads. With max mana reduced, Orianna will usually launch her move at the same time as Jhin or Miss using the skill. Combined with Braum, this is a long chain of control with a huge amount of damage stuffed into the enemy team and helps this squad blow up the enemy team easily. If you own a lot of BF Swords, then Jhin is the first choice.
Seraphine
One of the notable updates of version 12.1 is that Morello’s Demon Book was nerfed quite heavily in terms of damage, so Riot has buffed champions who use this item to compensate. Seraphine is also among them and even Riot has reduced the maximum mana point by 10 for this champion. This causes Seraphine to suddenly become an all-out over-damage unit that can heal allies while still dealing massive amounts of damage.
Seraphine gets a powerful buff and becomes a very strong mainstay
This is even the direct cause of the Inventor’s lineup returning to the top of the meta next to the buffed Tech Bear. Now the Inventor squad is becoming a more stubborn version of Kai’Sa – Idol when it has both terrible damage on many targets, continuous recovery and is not afraid of lack of control. The item that you should aim for for Seraphine is Shojin Spear, Archangel’s Staff and 1 item that increases any magic damage.
Lux
To be fair, Lux is a magic damage version of Jhin when the operation of these two pieces is quite similar. Even the weakness that is difficult to quickly finish “buffalo” units, Jhin and Lux are very similar. So when a squad like Kai’Sa – Idol or Chemistry skill was nerfed relatively heavily in patch 12.1, Lux also benefited greatly and became one of the top mainstays.
Lux is proving to be very strong and helping the Mage team rise to the top of the meta
Lux’s advantage over Jhin is that the way to build a squad is simpler and there is no need to use too many hot Wizard units. Moreover, before owning Lux, the Mage team also owns many pieces of chess that deal good damage and can hold items for Lux, so the rate of keeping blood in the middle of the game is greater for this squad. If you start with equipment that provides energy (Tear of the Goddess) or skill damage (Oversized Stick), then Lux is the mainstay to aim for.
