League of Legends: Players using toxic language will be automatically “muted” during the match since update 12.20
Riot is actively paying attention to bad behavior in the game, specifically here is the use of toxic words when chatting in the game. Since update 12.20, players with inappropriate words will be immediately “turned off chat” without responding promptly.
Everyone knows that League of Legends is an extremely toxic game. Toxic gamers can be present in many different forms, including those who deliberately troll, intentionally feed, use slanderous words on their own teammates, etc. Moreover, dealing with those who are toxic. This player often leaves you frustrated and exhausted. So, Riot Games has always put a lot of effort into combating this dilemma.
Since the introduction of the current Honor system, players are constantly encouraged to play as a team and be kinder every time they are teamed up. Most recently, Riot itself decided to create a separate line of skins to reward players who achieved Honor 5, they are the ones who deserve it. But whatever you say, the competition in League of Legends is still huge. Players often care about their rankings more than any other goal, which makes toxicity an integral part of the game. An individual who makes a mistake that affects the entire team can completely become the target of harsh, even condemnable curses.

Recently, Riot has officially put into the game an “automatic mute” mechanism when it detects that a player uses harsh words in the communication area. During the duration of the match, other players will not have to hear any words from that toxic player (since being “locked in chat”). Then when the game ends, a red text “system muted” (roughly translated as: automatically muted by the system) will appear right under the toxic player’s name.
Currently this feature is only included in the Solo/Duo queue in patch 12.20, in the future it will not be clear if Riot wants to expand the scope of this feature or not. However, at the present time, there are many opinions in favor of this system of Riot.
