The CS:GO player found a way to quickly throw smoke on the Dust 2 map, but before he could apply it, he was banned.
Smoke, also known as smoke bombs, is one of the most important bombs in FPS games, especially tactical shooting games like CS: GO or Valorant today. Smoke will help players obscure vision, escape or make it impossible for the enemy to have information in a certain area… That’s why, players in CS:GO or Valorant often look for lines- up (temporarily understood as throwing angle) smoke bombs, creating an early advantage for their side.
Most recently, CS:GO player Robin ‘ropz’ Kool (playing for the FaZe Clan team) found a way to throw smoke extremely quickly, obscuring the view in the mid area of the Dust map. 2, which CS:GO gamers call smoke pixel (which can be understood as throwing standard smoke each frame).
Smoke pixels in CS:GO
It is known that to perform this way of throwing smoke, an algorithm must be installed and installed in the game file (this algorithm only saves the operations and angle of the smoke throwing position, not hacking/cheat). In addition, the smoke pixel can only be performed when on the attacking side of the Dust 2 map.
A code snippet to be able to use the smoke throw
On the attacking side, there will be all 15 randomly respawn locations. For smoke pixel to be successful, there are only 3 possible positions including positions 12 to 15.

Next, CS:GO players just need to plate the previously installed keys and jump and throw smoke. This way, the defenders didn’t finish the respawn before the smoke covered the mid.
Realizing the hegemony of this smoke pixel as well as its imbalance, the CS:GO tournament organizers issued a ban on the use of this smoke bomb trick. Accordingly, Complexity’s CS: GO director – Mr. Graham “messioso” Pitt has confirmed that ESL officially bans players from using this smoke bomb in their tournaments, firstly at LAN tournaments, starting from the upcoming IEM Katowice 2022.
This is quite sad news for CS:GO players, especially the one who found this way – ropz, when it took a lot of effort to research but was banned from using it. Currently, Valve and BLAST tournaments still have no information on how to throw this smoke.
