Ubisoft seems to be looking to revive its classic Might & Magic franchise in the future, according to the company’s latest job posting. The well-known publisher’s studio Shangai is currently looking for a new veteran game developer to “brand and marketability” for its new project.
The last Might & Magic game that Ubisoft developed was released in 2014 as Might & Magic X: Legacy. The game has received mostly positive reviews, although the gaming community is a bit unsatisfied with its new gameplay. One major problem with Might & Magic X: Legacy is that it’s a dungeon crawler and not the complete turn-based strategy genre that old fans of the series used to love.
However now with Ubisoft Shangai making it clear that they are working on a brand new Might & Magic AAA title, it seems the company is considering allowing the franchise to be revived once again. While we still don’t have any details on this new Might & Magic title, the job posting makes it clear that the game’s production process has yet to be established.

More specifically, Ubisoft Shangai is looking for a Senior Brand Manager to work with the studio’s team of developers on a mission to help revive the Might & Magic franchise. The job description requires that the candidate be able to define the team’s product positioning strategy, ensure that the game is marketable, and help create and evaluate all associated assets, along with a number of other duties. The project has had no mention of Ubisoft Quartz NFT as of now.
Considering Ubisoft’s usual approach to classic game series like the Splinter Cell remakes and the upcoming Prince of Persia, it’s interesting that the company didn’t want to bring Might & Magic back into the spotlight. with a project that inherits from its predecessors and is replaced by a completely new AAA product. Since no information about the game is listed in the job description, we also have no way of knowing if the game will fall into the full turn-based strategy genre or something else.
One final note is that Might & Magic gamers should not expect too much from this project, Ubisoft’s Beyond Good and Evil 2 game was announced for release in 2016 after many years of being considered inactive. , however that game has not been released yet. Hopefully the same will not happen with the new Might & Magic project, but it would be better if gamers should not expect too much because the game is not yet in production. But this is definitely good news and a welcome return for gamers who are fans of the series.
