The long-awaited Uzumaki anime has yet to be released, but the anime will feature the voice of a very familiar creator.
Kodoani.com – Junji Ito will voice a character in the upcoming anime adaptation of one of the author’s most popular works, Uzumaki.
The anime’s official Twitter account posted an update to reassure fans that the series is still actively underway. The update also revealed that Ito himself will be part of the show’s voice cast, although the show’s producers aren’t ready to reveal which character the author will voice yet. The video suggests that Ito’s role will be a short one, with the author himself joking that the casting was perfect because of the author’s poor presentation. Ito joins a long list of horror artists who enjoy appearing in their own works, such as Stephen King and M. Night Shyamalan. The long-awaited anime is still slated to premiere around October 2022.

A short trailer for the series was released last June, introducing the film’s unique black-and-white CG animetion in an attempt to more accurately recreate the visual style of the Ito manga compared to previous versions. earlier adaptations of other works. In June, Nagahama apologized for the series’ long production times, saying that development on the film had been slowed significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent shutdowns.
Uzumaki is set in the rural seaside town of Kurouzo-Cho, and begins when a number of mysterious spiral patterns begin to appear throughout the area, causing them to suffer from paranoia and other terrifying phenomena. The story follows high school student Kirie Goshima and her boyfriend, Shuichi Saito, as they try to escape the town and its strange curse.

It is one of the most critically acclaimed works of Eisner award winning horror author Junji Ito, who is also known for manga like Tomie, Gyo and The Enigma of Amigara Fault.
