Recently, one of the ‘heads’ of Riot Games – the head of the general design department Riot August shared about the ideal champion that he aspires to design in League of Legends.
Riot August is the “father” of many champions with unique mechanics and weapons such as Zeri, Jinx, Jhin, Viego, Ekko, Vi, etc.
According to sharing, August wants to create a general of the Vampire race. Many people will think that Vladimir has already appeared in League of Legends, so this new champion will be a bit “superfluous”. But in reality, Vladimir is just a Hemomancer (Blood Mage), and what August wants is a complete Vampire.
According to Riot August, Vladimir is not a “Vampire type” and does not satisfy him.
“I want to create a complete Vampire. I never had a chance, maybe one day they (Riot Games) will let me. A super cool Vampire. It will turn into a bat and fly away to suck blood and do all sorts of other things.” Riot August revealed the ideal champion that I want to design.
But that is not the only idea of August, he also revealed another champion with the leading style of “hacking” in League of Legends. More specifically, Riot August wants to create a swordsman who uses the Ultra Greatsword – an extremely large sword in terms of length, width and weight.
Aatrox’s sword is not big enough for August.
“I love bringing new weapons to League of Legends, you can see the AD carry champions I do. I love giving champions weapons that help them ‘play hard’ and have great moments in the game. But I just debuted Zeri so I’ll probably take a break for a while.
But I’ve always fantasized about a general with a giant sword. Aatrox is ‘close’ too, but what I want is an even bigger sword, that kind of giant giant.” – Riot August talks about the new swordsman that I want to design.
Referring to Ultra Greatswords, many people will think of the game Dark Souls.
With an oversized sword that August is aiming for, perhaps this swordsman will help League of Legends gamers feel the “hands-on” when “cutting and slashing” in the game. However, this is just the champion that August wants to do, and whether it really appears in League of Legends or not will have to depend on the decision of Riot Games.
