Mage is the team that benefits after some of Riot’s tweaks in patch 12.18 were not made because of bugs.
Recently, update 12.18 of DTCL has officially landed with many notable changes with the reduction of the power of Nunu Dragon Warrior or Storm Dragon Gunner. However, there are some corrections in the update that did not take effect due to some error issues.
According to Riot Mortdog’s share, Lux is a champion that has not received buffs compared to what was previously announced. However, this made the Mage benefit in 12.18 when Riot decided to “compensate” with some adjustments.
(1/2) Couple things to note here. Due to some patching issues, a few things are a bit different than we wanted. Lux3 is lower than intended, and Radiant Gargoyle didn’t get buffed. Those aren’t a huge deal.
Mage though ended up at 80/110/140/170, which isn’t what we wanted. https://t.co/QsOXetSZO6

“Due to some patching issues, some things turned out to be a little different from our expectations in update 12.18. The power of the 3-star Lux will be weaker than expected, and the Light Armored Beast will not be buffed. The Mage’s skill damage is increased to 80/110/140/170%, but that’s not what we want,” said Riot Mortdog.
Although the Mage buff is not what Riot wants, this adjustment makes this squad extremely powerful in the current meta, especially the Sohm card. Therefore, Riot Games is still closely monitoring the strength of the Mage squad to be able to immediately issue a hotfix to prevent the dominance of this squad.
In addition to the aforementioned changes to the Mage, version 12.18 also introduces some adjustments to the Storm Dragon or the power buff of many Dragon God units. This move is intended to help the 12.18 meta become more diverse for players.
