From the night of June 6 to the morning of June 7, the LoL community was “fired” when it was discovered that the YouTube channel VETV7 Esports belonging to Vietnam Esports had been taken over.
More specifically, at the end of June 6, the channel VETV7 Esports – One of the two official YouTube channels of Vietnam Esports TV suddenly broadcasted a livestream of promotional content about virtual currency exchanges, and at the same time posted the latest news. The comment leads to another website that also specializes in coin trading.
This move shows that it is likely that this YouTube channel has been hijacked and used for the purpose of advertising virtual currency. The League of Legends (LoL) community quickly discovered the problem, and some gamers called for reporting live links promoting virtual currency on this channel.
VETV7 Esports is the official YouTube channel of Vietnam Esports TV system, specializing in posting video clips and content related to League of Legends tournaments that VETV owns broadcasting rights, mainly VCS, MSI and Chung end the world of League of Legends. This is also one of the major YouTube channels in Vietnam with more than 1.75 million followers and more than 10,000 video clips have been posted.
Currently, according to our records, after many hours of being “hacked”, VETV7 Esports has temporarily “disappeared” from the YouTube ecosystem. The situation of large YouTube channels being taken over has been rampant in recent times, not only in Vietnam but also in many other countries. FAP TV – A big brand in the Vietnamese YouTube community, has also recently become a victim of this situation.
After hours of being taken over, the VETV7 Esports channel has been temporarily “discolored” from YouTube.
What LoL fans are most interested in right now is whether VETV7 Esports has the ability to regain control, because if the worst case happens, it means that this channel is permanently taken over, or the If the legal owner of VETV7 Esports is forced to remove the channel because it cannot regain control, this will be a huge loss for the Vietnamese LoL community, because this is almost a channel for sharing information. The only official news that can fully convey the images of the League of Legends tournament system in Vietnamese language.
