On the evening of November 9, blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had its premiere, attracting great attention from Vietnamese audiences and media. The return of the Black Panther warrior after many years is considered an “important signal” that not only closes Marvel’s Phase 4, but also shows Wakanda’s next move after T’Challa, or Chadwick Boseman, passes. life. Here are the first reviews of the audience and commentaries in Vietnam after the first screening.
Marvel’s Best Phase 4 Movie
Many opinions agree that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the best project of Phase 4. Among them, Queen Ramonda and Shuri are the two characters who are most praised for their great acting, along with that. is the most profound and well-invested way to build the film.
Movie Reviews Page:
“THE BEST SUPER HERO FILM OF THE YEAR… JUST AFTER THE BATMAN
Plus mark:
– The acting of the main cast is complete and full of emotions (especially the Queen).
– The setting and costume design are still as excellent as the first part.
– Good music enough to use, worth listening to over and over again.
– Chadwick tribute feels complete and moving.
Minus point:
– The middle of the movie is a bit long.
– Some situations are unnecessary but not ridiculous like Rabbit.
– The final battle scene is not satisfying, if not POOR compared to the position of the two heads of the two most powerful kingdoms.
– Riri has not left much of an impression beyond the purpose of introducing the character and just as a forced excuse to promote the actions of the characters.
Conclusion: Black Panther 2 is still a movie worth watching, a lot better than Marvel’s shoddy work released recently.”
JY audience:
“Those who suffer the most will be the greatest leaders…
Marvel’s successful female lead promotion. It is true that there are compliments and criticisms, but to me, the movie is so good!”.
LGC audience:
“The best movie in Phase 4, the plot and character development is very good”.
The LLN audience couldn’t hold back their emotions as Marvel delved into an emotional topic, especially a country and a family that had just experienced a great loss:
” Wakanda Forever is the best movie of Phase 4 and also one of Marvel’s best. While the studio has exhausted me with constant content output that I’m ready to let go, this movie is rich material and “strong on the theme”, to the extent that I am in tune with each character’s breath and wobbly emotions.
Remembering what old man Scorsese once said: ‘Marvel movies lack emotional risks’, Wakanda Forever is a clear proof that Marvel doesn’t just stop at the formula, the repetition of certain themes but also can explore more in-depth topics. Here are the post-loss traumas.
A nation has lost its king. A mother lost her child. A sister who lost her brother. The family story is superimposed on the political story, portraying a picture that is extremely rare in the superhero movie genre. Because there are no superheroes here. In Wakanda Forever, there are only broken people, learning to embrace and live with the tragedy. The focus of the story is Shuri, who must learn to grow from the pain. Right. Wakanda Forever’s theme sentence is short: a girl must learn to overcome the pain of losing her brother – the head of her country – in order to lead the people. Thereby, Shuri’s journey shows up not only in form but also in consciousness.
Talokan is brought into the film naturally and comfortably, forming a film that comfortably explores the pains of the two postcolonial peoples. Talokan and Namor are not only antagonistic characters, but also a mirror for Wakanda to reflect on their journey from darkness to light, and take responsibility for their every step.
Well, this is a Marvel movie with the best soundtrack I’ve ever enjoyed, but it’s not that it’s good thanks to Ludwig Gorranson’s music or material. It is good in place to put the settling space. The excruciatingly painful moments to mourn and remember Chadwick Boseman and the legacy he left behind.
That’s why I shed tears right from the studio logo.”
Emotion is perhaps the biggest plus point of Black Panther 2 when from the beginning, the film has been built from loss. According to the audience of TD, the film has few battle scenes, but it is full of emotions. In addition, another audience was extremely surprised when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had a lot of Vietnamese named in the credits.
TD audience:
“The film is full of sincerity, mourning and carrying a lot of sadness. It won’t culminate in battles, but it closes the loss and opens a new chapter.”
D.XT audience:
“Too many emotions for a greeting. It’s the first time Vietnamese people appear so much in a Marvel movie.”
Long lines, precarious techniques
Besides compliments, Black Panther: Wakanda Foreve still received mixed opinions from Vietnamese audiences. Superhero movie review site SUPERWORLD is disappointed when the character’s personality is different from part 1, plus unnecessarily lengthy details.
SUPERWORLD overall rating:
“I don’t dare say that the movie is good or bad, but actually it’s still far from being bad but saying it’s good… it’s very strange. The character building is something like that, the character behaves differently from part 1. Turning 180 degrees, only Shuri is carefully portrayed, it can be said that she is promoting as a saint.
And part 2 naturally, every character speaks morally. The open mouth type is a complex sentence that is so long that it cannot be displayed all at once on the screen. Even M’Baku naturally said morality and humanity.
But I will focus on Mr. Namor for a moment. I heard that you carry the team, you are an excellent villain, I had high expectations. Unexpectedly in the movie, he was the moral king, the manipulative lord.
[…]
Fortunately, his voice is good and his eyes are wet, so whatever he says sounds convincing.
[…]
The movie is unnecessarily long really. The part of gratitude to T’challa is enough, let’s talk about it another time. This movie is probably a billion dollars, it’s not bad to watch, but it’s so clunky and colorful. Bear.”
However, what makes many viewers concerned in part 2 of Black Panther is also the technical factor – which used to be Marvel’s strength. Some people feel annoyed that the underwater kingdom of Talokan is so poor and dark. Not to mention, many sloppy, clumsy visual effects continue to be evident on screen, which has appeared in a number of recent Marvel movies.
Vietnamese audience:
” Plus mark:
– Build good character psychology
– Emotional acting, especially Angela Bassett as Queen Wakanda
– Excellent costumes and backgrounds
– Emotional tribute to Chadwick Boseman
– Good soundtrack
Minus point:
-The scenes in Talokan kingdom are so dark
– The middle of the movie is a bit lengthy
– The final fight scene is not satisfying
In the end, this is still the best superhero movie this year, guys.”
Foreign audience:
“Marvel’s VFX team signal to the rescue. Scenes are rendered with fear, darker than Game of Thrones.”
D.H audience:
“This is so good, it’s about feminism with subtle grace and just enough. I don’t like to cry over and over for Chadwick, so I focused on watching Shuri, I appreciate the construction in this part. Overall, like and like x1000 times more than part 1. But the effects are too much, oh my god, let’s breathe a little more, Marvel…”
