Fairy Tail’s manga sequel is expected to get an anime adaptation soon. Here’s everything anime fans need to know about the upcoming series.
In July 2018, the official sequel to Hiro Mashima’s popular series, Fairy Tail , began to be serialized. In September 2021, an official announcement was made about the anime adaptation of this sequel series. Consider Fairy Tail. Assuming the series can reach the heights of season 1, it would be nice to know what the series is about.
The series continues where Fairy Tail started. Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, Wendy, Happy and Carla have all embarked on a 100-year quest in the northern continent of Guiltina. As the title implies, the job is so difficult that no one has been able to complete it for at least a century. Even so, in the classic Fairy Tail style, Natsu is confident that he can succeed with the help of his friends.
The mission is to seal the Five Dragon Gods. These five dragons are so powerful that each has the ability to wreak havoc on a global scale. This puts them all on the same level of threat as the Acnologia of the previous series.
As difficult as sealing the sounds of these Dragon Gods, they’re not the only challenges Natsu and the gang have to face. Returning home, a new mage named Touka joins Fairy Tail in hopes of meeting Natsu. At first, she seems like a great fit for the guild, but she’s clearly hiding a darker side.
Touka has another personality living inside her called the White Mage. This dangerous creature is clearly capable of stealing and erasing the magic of others. If the Five Dragons were the Acnologia of 100 Years Quest, then the White Witch would be the Zeref of the series, and so she was called.
As if all of this wasn’t bad enough, there’s one more major antagonistic faction in 100 Years Quest. While trying to seal the Five Dragon Gods, Natsu and friends discover conflicts with Diabolos. This local guild of Guiltina is entirely composed of Fifth Generation Dragon Slayers. They obtain their abilities by eating dragons or eating other Dragon Slayers. Naturally, they developed a craving for Dragon God meat.
While eating the Dragons would be a good way to prevent them from destroying the world, that’s not necessarily what Natsu and the others want. Dragons can be dangerous, but that doesn’t mean they’re all evil; some of them are even benevolent. Since the goal is to “seal” the Dragon Gods rather than “kill” them, Natsu and his friends want to complete their assigned mission if they can help. In any case, the Diabolos don’t have the best intentions, so it’s best if they don’t have the power of the Dragon God.
Aside from the villains, 100 Years Quest should have a lot to do with veteran Fairy Tail fans. There will be plenty of cameos from old characters, callbacks to the original series, comedy, fanservice, action, and everything else that makes Fairy Tail unique. Anyone who is a fan of Fairy Tail will probably go crazy watching 100 Years Quest.
Whenever it comes out, anime Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest will generate a large number of followers. The anime will bring back Fairy Tail fans while also winning over newer anime fans with its beautiful action and lovable characters. As long as the anime can capture the magic of manga, it will be a huge hit.
